Green Technology Worth Knowing About for 2023 (and Beyond)
ADC was approached by the Mozambican Electricity utility, Electricidade de Mocambique (EdM) to act as the Owner’s Engineer, Project manager and site supervision for the construction and commissioning of the High-Pressure Customer Metering Station (HPCMS) in Chokwe.
The HPCMS receives Royalty gas from the Temane gas pipeline at approximately 110 BarG. The gas pressure is then stepped down in two stages to 6,6 BarG, to meet the Kuvaninga Power station gas requirements.
The notice to proceed was issued on 1 June 2016 with a planned construction schedule of 38 weeks. The plant was successfully commissioned in March 2017, two days ahead of schedule.
After the successful commissioning of the HPCMS, ADC will form part of the Sasol operations team; supplying site security and warehouse management. Included in the service is the very important task of, daily-gas-nominations to the Owners (EdM).
The Kelvin power station is situated in Johannesburg and was constructed in 1957, making it one of the oldest coal fired power stations in South Africa. The original capacity of this facility was 600MW but with the shutdown of a portion of the plant in 2012, it currently has a capacity of approximately 300MW.
ADC was approached by an international Company to conduct an evaluation on a 1040 MW Combined Cycle Gas Turbine station (CCGT), in the Middle East. As part of this evaluation process, ADC had to compile a comprehensive Due Diligence report and investment model of the power station’s business, that would comply with the requirements of international financing.
ADC and an international investor teamed up to conduct a due diligence to acquire a stake in a Heavy Fuel Oil facility in Mombasa, Kenya. The facility had been in operation for 11 years and had a remaining net plant capacity of 75 MW.
