PROJECT MANAGEMENT

ADC employs proven and tested project management principles based on many years of hardcore project management experience in the chemical, petro-chemical, mining and power and transmission sectors.

This portfolio of processes and systems allows us, together with our Clients and Contractors, to develop/implement:

  • Projects’ scopes of work;
  • Breakdown structures;
  • Project estimates and schedules;
  • Cost and schedule controls and structured risk analyses;
  • Constructability assessments;
  • Design reviews; and
  • Hazardous and operability studies (Hazops).

CONSTRUCTION SUPERVISION

ADC Site Representatives communicate site activities, identify risks and implement corrective measures to ensure both contractual and legal compliance. ADC's transparent approach is characterised by regular reporting and regular Client liaising.

On-site functions that we provide include:

  • Developing, implementing and controlling quality, environmental, and health and safety systems;
  • Monitoring / controlling site activities;
  • Ensuring Contractor legal compliance;
  • Conducting / guiding pre-commissioning and commissioning activities; and,
  • Ensuring proper handover of new facilities.

ENGINEERING MANAGEMENT

Engineering Management combines the specialized discipline of engineering with the science of project management to successfully manage and lead a team of technical professionals. Our teams’ combined qualifications, collective knowledge and extensive experience will enable us to successfully oversee technically complex projects from conception to completion. The management of Hazardous Operability Studies, Design Reviews and onsite engineering support form part of this service.

Our engineering disciplines include:

  • Electrical and Instrumentation;
  • Process / Mechanical / Piping; and
  • Civil.

OPERATIONS & MAINTENANCE

ADC has long-term contracts to operate and maintain electricity generating facilities and integrated transmission and distribution facilities in South Africa and Mozambique.

Our Operators are fully trained and well-qualified to operate and maintain power generating and electrical facilities on behalf of our Clients. They are also qualified and licensed to switch high voltage equipment in terms of the applicable regulations. Experienced head office management and engineering staff supports these on-site teams.

ADC provides these services to Developers and Owners of power plant facilities, and is able to structure the services to meet the specific requirements and preferences of our Clients.

Operational responsibilities of ADC include:

  • Fulltime operations and monitoring of power generating and integrated transmission and distribution facilities;
  • Procurement and management of spares;
  • Performing all maintenance tasks that are not contractually required to be performed by the original equipment supplier;
  • Managing of breakdowns and interfaces with suppliers;
  • Ensuring legal compliance in accordance with all applicable regulatory requirements;
  • Performing of all business administration associated with the operations;
  • Preparation of technical and financial reports.

MANAGEMENT

SPECIAL PURPOSE COMPANIES

At present, ADC has three (3) long-term contracts to manage Special Purpose Independent Power Producer Companies on behalf of the Company Owners and Lenders.

Services that ADC provide include:

  • Financial accounting;
  • Bank account and payment management;
  • Statutory audit management;
  • Reporting to financiers in terms of debt facility agreement requirements; and,
  • Overall equipment import and clearance management
