Kuvaninga Energia - Operations and Maintenance
ADC was approached by the Mozambican Electricity utility, Electricidade de Mocambique (EdM) to act as the Owner’s Engineer, Project manager and site supervision for the construction and commissioning of the High-Pressure Customer Metering Station (HPCMS) in Chokwe.
The HPCMS receives Royalty gas from the Temane gas pipeline at approximately 110 BarG. The gas pressure is then stepped down in two stages to 6,6 BarG, to meet the Kuvaninga Power station gas requirements.
The notice to proceed was issued on 1 June 2016 with a planned construction schedule of 38 weeks. The plant was successfully commissioned in March 2017, two days ahead of schedule.

Kalumbila 330kV Technical Feasibility Study
Towards the end of 2019, Enterprise Power DRC (EPDRC) requested ADC to carry out a study of ZESCO and SNEL networks, to determine whether a Kalumbila – Kolwezi 330 kV interconnection was a viable option, compared to a Kansanshi - Likasi 330 kV interconnection. The purpose was to increase the imports from Zambia to alleviate the shortage of energy in the Katanga. Most of the new mining projects were situated in the Kolwezi area but the Kalumbila – Kolwezi line was longer by about 45 km.
The ADC report was issued in March 2021; the Client shared it with ZESCO who then requested a full technical feasibility study of the Kalumbila – Kolwezi interconnection. The line route had to be adjusted to take into account new mining activities near Kalumbia. The technical feasibility study was issued in April 2021 with network studies, drawings, detailed cost estimates and functional specifications of the equipment, including secondary equipment

HFO Fired Due Diligence: Kenya Facility
ADC and an international investor teamed up to conduct a due diligence to acquire a stake in a Heavy Fuel Oil facility in Mombasa, Kenya. The facility had been in operation for 11 years and had a remaining net plant capacity of 75 MW.
Development of Power Alt Facility
Development on the Power Alt facility; Middelburg, South Africa, started in 2007, where ADC was able to reach financial close on this 10MW facility within 3 weeks of partnering with an interested lender/investor.
40MW Natural Gas Project: Kuvaninga Energia
ADC conducted a Technology Due Diligence and selected 10 x GE Jenbacher 24 cylinder engines with a generation capacity of 40MW. ADC developed the project, at risk, over a period of 4 years to reach financial close in 2013.

Soitec Solar Facility
ADC was approached by the international technology supplier Soitec to perform SPV management tasks for the Special Purpose Vehicle Company which was formed to construct a 40MW Concentrated Photovoltaic Solar facility.
Crossborder Transmission Project
ADC conducted a Feasibility Study on behalf of a private mine to assess the feasibility of a potential High Voltage cross-border transmission line, supplying electricity to the mines in the DRC directly from Zambia.
EDM network integration
This project entailed the interconnection of the 40MW Kuvaninga Power Facility to the network consisting of a 7 km double circuit 110kV transmission line from the Kuvaninga facility to the Lionde substation in Chokwe.
