An international cement manufacturer is constructing a plant near Kimpese, in the Bas Congo Province of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). The new substation was constructed to provide power to the cement plant and will be supplied from SNEL’s Kwilu Substation with a 220kV transmission line. The distance is approximately 14 km.
ADC is providing Overall Project Management Services to the Project comprising of the Substation, the 220kV transmission line, the expansion of the Kwilu Substation to accommodate the new 220kV transmission line, and the supply to two nearby villages as part of a social responsibility program.
The Project Management was coordinated from the head office in Pretoria, South Africa, and on site by means of full time site supervision for daily progress and quality record keeping and feedback.
